*Politibus is an innovative professional development program designed to help teachers navigate meaningful political and social discourse within school communities. Developed with the support of the Tel Aviv Municipality’s Secondary Education Division, the program is grounded in research on political education during times of national crisis.

In moments of social and political upheaval, the ability to engage in democratic dialogue and make sense of complex realities is more vital than ever. Politibus offers educators a structured roadmap to support these essential yet challenging conversations.

The program includes two guided workshops and one self-guided session:

• Session 1: “Reading the Map” – Identifying challenges and barriers to political discourse, clarifying the teacher’s role, and introducing initial strategies for engagement. 
• Session 2: “Navigating Political Discourse” – Exploring the REACT model and practicing pedagogical tools for facilitating dialogue. 
• Session 3: Self-Guided Exploration – Teachers independently apply the political discourse cards using structured instructions provided in advance. 

Participating schools receive a comprehensive toolkit that includes:

• The REACT model 
• An original political discourse card game 
• Membership in a supportive community of educators 
• Professional guidance for school-wide implementation 

Politibus helps schools:

• Establish a shared framework for political conversations 
• Build internal support systems among staff 
• Foster a culture of open discourse 
• Equip teachers with practical, ready-to-use classroom tools 

The program is suitable for educators from all disciplines and for teaching teams of 10–30 participants. Its strengths lie in its flexibility, immediate applicability, innovative materials, and capacity to create safe, respectful spaces for dialogue around political and social issues.
